Team effort

Mr Millicent Crow and I made this poster last week, for our show at the Inch Bar in Dunedin which is coming up soon.  Next week!  I drew the pictures and Sam put it all together.  Any Dunedin recommendations welcome, we're going to catch up with some old friends, have some nice coffee at Modaks, do a bit of op shopping (hopefully for some nice old woollen blankets), go to Tunnel Beach or maybe Seacliff, and marvel at the beautiful Victorian houses!

Dunedin was a visual feast of hand-lettered and neon signs...here are some beautiful fading ones:

Dunedin buildings

One of the things I love most about Dunedin is the way it feels like being in a fairy tale, with beautiful old buildings covered in rambling roses, iron lace and fretwork.  When I was down there last week I had my camera pretty much glued to my eye the whole time taking photos of all the pretties.  Here are some of my favourites, some of them taken on the way to an uncharacteristically early morning swim!

Out of season Xmas decorations and leaving town

I happened to be in town bright and early this morning, so I had a bit of a wander with my camera. I'm not much of one for Xmas decorations (although my bedroom is currently festooned with Millicent Crow flags, a bit of a failed experiment) but I did admire these giant chains draped across High Street:
And these doves flying down Durham Lane:

But see that gloomy weather in the background? I'm going to try to escape it, and I'm heading down to Dunedin tomorrow morning. I'm hoping for a nice cup of Modaks coffee, a wee bit of op shopping and perhaps some albatrosses. Oh and this show! Got any Dunedin recommendations for me?
