In my creative space today I've been experimenting with humble old brown paper, the kind you wrap parcels in. These folks are drawings I've done on brown paper, stuck to white paper and painted over with a touch of gouache. The brown paper's really fun to paint on, it's quite addictive. Hopefully I'm going to use it in a project I'm going to work on with Mr. Millicent Crow...or fill sketchbooks with haughty-looking people painted on brown paper!
What have you been working on?

Happy Thursday to you!

They're fantastic! Nothing better that brown paper portraits. :D
ReplyDeleteLove brown paper, but I've never thought of drawing on it! Great idea.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant idea and I just love the result!!!
ReplyDeleteI love them! They look fantastic, and brown paper is perfect for these portraits. The Edwardians favorite colour was nut brown - I read somewhere recently that it was an era where you were thought to be unlucky if you were blonde. : )
ReplyDeleteHey thanks, for your nice comment on my blog :)
ReplyDeletePS.I love these. Thanks for sharing the technique process too.
