Pink birdy
Playing round in Photoshop - this is actually going to have a blue background and red lettering, but I'm having a play with some other combinations...

My creative space: birds of a feather
I finally finshed the drawing I've been working on at lunchtimes:
And today, on my day off, I coloured it in Photoshop:
I'm going to get it printed A4 sized like these ones. Then I went up the road and had a coffee and started the next one in the series:
How about you, what have you been working on?
Happy Thursday to you!

Playing with patterns
I'm borrowing my sister's computer this weekend and having a play with making patterns in Photoshop. I'm making patterns from some drawings I did a while back - they're similar to some of the stamps I've made to use on fabric. I'm hoping to turn a design like this into a silk screen so that I can make fabric with a repeating pattern...

My creative space: figs!
I drew some of my figs:

Then I played around with them in photoshop and made this fabric design:
The background colour is meant to be like the bit around the seeds when they're ripe. I'm going to try a green version too, kind of fig skin green. I'm getting excited about ordering some swatches from Spoonflower! Now to clean up all the fruit, leaves and seedpods that are all over my drawing table! How about you, what are you working on?

Sewing wish list

If time, money and sewing rage were no object, this is what I'd make myself next week. A polka dot trench coat, a dress with generous pockets (I have the perfect green sheet to make this out of) and a grey bubble skirt, also with pockets. Hopefully I will make them all soon, although I suspect it will take a lot of cursing at the sewing machine. Perhaps this has something to do with the fact that my usual sewing style is to try to run up the perfect garment the night before it has to be worn to a wedding. Another thing that usually makes me curse is photoshop, but I as you can see I have been learning to colour in my drawings with it. So far it seems a bit less stressful than sewing!
