Christmas gift tag giveaway
Seeing as it's Xmas I thought I'd have another little giveaway, this time of the printable variety. If you'd like some Millicent Crow gift tags to adorn your presents you can download them here and print them out onto some card in colour.

I've just bought one of those hole punches that only punches one hole, so I'm very excited about its potential for making gift tags. Happy printing!

My Creative Space: a Valentine's Day giveaway
Happy Valentine's Day! I'm having a bit of a giveaway today, but first up, some blankets. I've been working on some paintings of old blanket labels and finished this Onehunga Woollen Mills one this morning. Then in a nice bit of synchronicity I found another Onehunga Woollen Mills blanket at the op shop this afternoon. For the princely, or should I say princessly sum of $7! It is very gaudy in real life, with almost fluro pink stripes, but it looks much more tasteful in photos! I think this "Princess" label will be one of my next paintings.
Oh and what am I up to for Valentine's Day? I'm hanging out at home with my cat. That's cool, she's pretty cute!
Joining in with "My Creative Space" over here today.Happy Thursday to you!

My creative space: a giveaway
I had a birthday the other day, the kind that ends in a zero. And to celebrate, I thought I'd have a little giveaway. Just before my birthday I was walking down the street in a white dress with black spots and spotted a dalmatian dog walking the other way. After having a giggle to myself, I thought it'd make a good cartoon, but I couldn't think of a caption. So what I thought I'd do for my giveaway is get you to suggest a caption for the cartoon, like the competition they have in the New Yorker.
So if you suggest a caption, you will have a chance to win the cartoon, with your caption added, plus one of my gocco prints and a copy of my zine:
Here's a closeup of the print:
I'll get Mr. Millicent Crow to choose a winner next Wednesday night and I'm happy to post the prize anywhere in the world.

Giveaway winners
Wow, thank you for all your name suggestions, they're fantastic, and very appropriate for the fellows in question! My old-fashioned gentlemen will be so well-named. Tonight I reached into a hat and drew out five winners.

My creative space and a giveaway
This time I need some names for some gentlemen I've been drawing, so if you'd like a chance to win a copy of my new zine, Denizens, all you need to do is suggest a name I could give each of the numbered dudes above. You can use the numbers to show which one you mean, e.g. 1. Albert, 2. Eustace, 3. Ormond, 4. Jasper. I've got five copies of the zine to give away and I'm happy to post them anywhere in the world.

My creative space, the biggest embroidery hoop I've ever seen, and a winner.
The ladies in the St. Vinnies were all excited that I might use it to do a giant embroidery. I disappointed them by saying that I'm going to do a big screenprint on calico and use the hoop to display it.
Thank you for all your comments on my giveaway post - I had fun reading about your collections! Today I closed my eyes and drew a winner:
Congratulations Melissa, you've won a pack of my 'A Little Bird' cards! Send me your address to millicentcrow (at) gmail (dot) com and I'll pop those in the post for you.

My creative space, a runner duck, a giveaway
Have you ever read Duck, Death and the Tulip? It's a beautiful but slightly disturbing kids' book, featuring my favourite kind of duck, an Indian Runner. These ducks have been described as "a wine bottle on legs", "the closest thing to a penguin" and "a bowling pin." I decided to have a go at drawing one this week and here it is:
Which reminds me, I've still got a crazy-coloured duck skirt that's way too small for me that I need to do something with. I'm getting a bit of a collection of skirts that need to be turned into other things!
I picked up my new "A Little Bird" series of greeting cards from the printers on Monday and I thought I'd have a bit of a giveaway. I've got a pack of these cards up for grabs (one of each of the designs pictured below) and I'll post them anywhere in the world. If you'd like to go in the draw, all you need to do is leave me a comment telling me something that you collect. Me? Green china that looks like it's made of leaves, green cardigans, royal memorabilia, Crown Lynn swans, old photos...
I'll draw a winner next Thursday evening.

And we have a winner!
This afternoon I closed my eyes, reached into my hat (or rather my mixing bowl) and pulled out:
Now Mr Bond St Bridge just happens to live with me, and can get all the huia prints he wants, so I thought it wasn't fair to let him win.
I reached in again and pulled out:
Congratulations, Jessie, you're the winner of my giveaway! Email me your address and I'll get that in the post for you.
Thanks so much for all your home hints, turns out they'll come in handy because I just found out we're having a flat inspection on Wednesday. Yikes! Wish me luck.

100 and a giveaway
This is my hundredth post, wow that went fast! To celebrate, I thought I'd have a little giveaway and thought it'd be fitting to have a giveaway themed with something that has been extinct for over a hundred years (the last confirmed sighting was nearly 103 years ago, anyway). So I've got a huia-themed prize pack up for grabs, featuring two fabric brooches (with huias gocco printed onto calico, backed with wool felt and with a safety clasp on the back), a gocco print of a male and female huia (the female one has the long beak) and a calico feather patch. Unfortunately it's not a huia feather, it doesn't have the white tip, but let's not be pedantic.

To enter, all you need to do is leave me a comment telling me your favourite home hint. My favourite home hint is that if you are as partial to a cup of strong black coffee as I am, you probably have the problem of your white coffee cups getting stained brown inside. Just rub a bit of baking soda on the stains and give them a wash and they'll be good as new.
I'll post the prize pack anywhere in the world, and I'll draw a winner next Sunday. Good luck and thanks for reading!

Congratulations Jem! If you email me your address to: millicentcrow at gmail dot com I will get that prize pack in the post for you.
Thanks everyone for your comments, I had a great time reading about all your quirks. I share a surprising number of them! And thanks Jayme for such a comprehensive list, that's cool that you're a fellow synesthete!

A Friday giveaway
Seeing as it's Friday I thought I'd have a little giveaway. I've got a Millicent Crow prize pack up for grabs, with one of my red "Sampler" gocco prints, a kowhai seed patch and a feather patch. Here are some closeups:
They call it synesthesia. My sister has it too; some of her colours are the same as mine and some of them are different.
How about you?
I'll draw a name out of a hat next Friday to find the winner.
Good luck, happy weekend to you!
